In a successful joint operation, Udalguri police today got hold of two National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) (S) militants. They were main convicts in the 2014 mass killing of tribal people in the State.

The militants were listed as one of the ‘Most Wanted’ people in the country by National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and were on the run ever since.

The arrested militants are John Mushahari and Juram Daimary. Both of them were operating away from any clues or insights from a long time now and were on the hit list of the NIA. The operation today was successfully carried out jointly by Indian Army and Udalguri police.

John Mushahari has been identified as the local troop commander of NDFB’s Udalguri unit. The militants are currently being held at the Udalguri police station.
