Assam Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary asserted to the Parliament that the Assam Government will not allow any part of the Assam territory to be included in the proposed Nagalim in reply of the question raised by Congress MLA Ajanta Neog of the opposition about the areas to be included in Nagalim.

NSCN (IM) wants to integrate parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Assam in the territory of Nagalim which has been strongly opposed by the three states.

Chandra Mohan Patowary claimed that the neighbouring state was not "cooperating with Assam in maintaining peace and status quo along the 512.1 kilometre-long inter-state boundaries." He also alleges that Nagaland has been attempting infringement of Assam land with the latest major instance being of setting up a sub-division inside Assam in November last year. Patowary said Assam government has been successfully and firmly resisting such attempts.

The minister was hopeful the border dispute would be settled soon as the Supreme Court is dealing with it.
