Assam cricketer Riyan Parag has been included in the 16-member Indian U-19 team for the next year’s ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.

He got the call up following his impressive performances at the recent U19 Challenger Trophy and has been a consistent performer at the U-19 level.

In the tour of England in July this year, Riyan showcased his batting abilities by scoring three fifties in four innings in tough overcast English batting conditions. He scored a century for India Reds in the U-19 Challengers Trophy in Mumbai last week and will be eager to continue with his blistering form.

The team will be led by promising Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw, the BCCI said today.
