The numbers of casualties due to electrocution have now climbed to 26 in Assam following the death of three more on Friday. According to report one more has been seriously injured in electrocution yesterday. The incident though did not move or affect the State Power Minister Pallab Lochan Das as he repeated his casual attitude towards the casualties and refrained from taking any responsibility for it.

A person named Ajabahar Ali died due to electrocution in Bhimajuli of Goalpara district. He died when he unfortunately laid his hands on a live wire, attaching on a bamboo pillar that left him electrocuted and dead within seconds of coming in touch with the wire.

Similarly, Atul Barman of Paikarkuchi in Nalbari has died due to electrocution, while he was repairing a water pump motor.
