The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Friday arrested four persons from the Guwahati railway station and recovered 20 kg gold from their possession, which is valued at about Rs 6 crore.
 
The gold bars were seized during a routine checking in Delhi-bound Tripura Sundari Express and the persons, all residents of Mizoram, were arrested, the official said.
 
The gold smuggled from Myanmar was on its way to clandestine gold markets in Delhi.
 
Police said smuggling of gold has increased manifold in recent years.
 
Gold bars of foreign origin were smuggled from Myanmar through the border via Manipur and from the Zokhawthar area in Mizoram.
