North Eastern India experienced major quiver, waking up on Saturday morning as a strong earthquake jolted the southern region of China and Tibet. Tremors of the 6.4 magnitude earthquake were heavily felt in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Nagaland.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake's epicenter was situated 185km from Along, 330km from Itanagar and 200km from Pasighat, all cities in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal Pradesh felt the quiver better than other Indian State’s as the epicenter of the quake was just miles away from the capital of Itanagar. Tremors were also felt in other towns like Aalo, Anini, Tuting, Gelling, Yingkiong and Mechuka.

Heavy tremors of the quake was also felt in Dibrugarh, North Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Tezpur, Guwahati and other places in Assam as also in Kohima in Nagaland.

No casualties or report of loss of life has not yet been reported in the Northeastern states of India
