Forest guards have recovered a rhino horn in Kaziranga National Park on March 05. The horn was recovered from Kathpara village, that falls under the Central Range of Kohora division of Kaziranga National Park.

The horn was recovered by forest guard Indra Rajput and and boatman Suneshwar Sonowal during a regular patrol in the region.

The Range Officer informed that the horn is of an old male rhino. “The horn might have also fallen due to old age of the animal” the official said.

It must be noted that carcass of a female rhino was also found recently in Majuli with its horn chopped off by miscreants after the rhino had strayed out of the National Park.
