Assam’s self taught film maker Rima Das and her Assamese drama film 'Village Rockstars' can’t just stop making the big waves across the globe as the film has now grabbed three prestigious awards at the Olympia International Film Festival for Children and Young People in Greece.

The film won the awards for Best Director (Rima Das), Best Actress (Bhanita Das) along with the Jury Choice award at the recently concluded film festival.

Village Rockstars is an Assamese language drama film directed by Rima Das. The film was released in 2017 and screened in many national and international film festivals.

At this year’s Jio MAMI Film Festival 2017, the film won the Golden Gateway award for best film in India Gold category, Oxfam Best Film for Gender Equality award and Young Critics Choice award, while it secured the Golden Elephant for Best Director (Feature Film) Competition Asian Panorama by Adult Jury (Rima Das) and Special Jury award for the Best Child Performer (Bhanita Das) at the International Children's Film Festival India (ICFFI) 2017.

Village Rockstars was screened in Cannes Film Festival 2017 and has been submitted for Kerala International Film Festival (International Competition) 2017 category. The movie was officially selected for Toronto International Film Festival (Discovery Section)2017 and  San Sebastián International Film Festival(New Directors Competition)2017.
