On the seventh day of Assam Assembly today, answering the questions relating to Education department, Assam Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “We have blocked the transfers of teachers since 2012 and employed the entire teachers district wise.”

On the other hand, while replying to the questions relating to regularizing the contractual teachers, the Minister said that the government is bound to obey the orders given by the Governor. He said, “The teachers must complete or pass TET and B.Ed.” He also informed that the Gauhati High Court will hear the case relating to the matter on November 8.

The Education Minister also informed the Assembly that the government is also making some decisions in view of transferring female teachers appointed in inaccessible areas. He also said the government has been considering an increase in the salaries of the teachers from next financial year.

Replying to the questions relating to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalas, the Education Minister while addressing the press announced government’s decision of opening four new Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalas in BTAD.
