  • Technical glitch delays NSE trade by 3 hours, normal trading resumes

Much to the horror of the stock brokers and traders, National Stock Exchange (NSE) today began trading in both cash market and F&O segment three hours behind its normal schedule. The delay was triggered by a technical glitch that crippled all operations in the NSE.

A display issue of market prices was noticed even after the issue was resolved and trading resumed normally. An exchange official said that “NSE is working to address the issue.”

The market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) said that NSE stopped trading on Monday morning due to a reported technical glitch.

NSE started the session on a disastrous note this morning as stocks and F&O did not update and trade orders did not go through. Pre-open sessions were announced twice but failed to get going.

Government sources said the Finance Ministry has sought for an interim report on the technical glitch by this evening from NSE and SEBI.
