Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the importance of unity in solving various global problems and stressed on the age-old mantra of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while delivering the keynote address at the plenary session of the WEF said the mantra was crucial to bridge the existing gap in humanity.

“India has always believed in values of integration and unity or ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which means the entire world is one family. It is relevant to bridge distances. We have always believed in uniting humanity, not breaking it,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also raised the issue of terrorism at the WEF, calling it a big threat and “even a bigger threat if one draws the distinction as ‘good’ terrorism and ‘bad’ terrorism.”

PM Narendra Modi said, “Terrorism is dangerous. Worse is when people say there is a difference between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ terror. It is painful to see some youngsters getting radicalised.”
