Delhi Police in a joint operation with Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Wednesday evening at 6 PM, arrested a man from the T-3 terminal of the Delhi Airport. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) PS Kushwah said the arrested man was considered to be one of the terrorist involved in the 2000 Red Fort attack.

According to sources, the suspect was recognized as a 37-year old man and identified as Bilal Ahmed Kawa. He was found travelling from Srinagar to Delhi. The man was suspected to have some links with the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Police said the Kawa was hiding from police since a very long time and they have found a great amount of money was transferred through Hawala in various bank accounts, which also includes the account of Kawa, which was used in succeeding the 2000 evil attack.

Three people, including two Army jawans, were killed in the December 22, 2000 Red Fort attack.
