The first ever Indian squad, to participate in a FIFA World Cup, has been announced for the 2017 FIFA Under 17 World Cup

Head coach Luis Norton de Matos submitted the list of players who will get the golden opportunity to don the blue shirt and represent India in the finals of a FIFA competition for the very first time, and that too, as hosts.

Led by Amarjit Singh Kiyam, 21-man squad in Group A will face the United States of America on the opening day of the event, which begins on 6 October. Colombia and Ghana are the two other teams which make up the group. India will play its group games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi.

The list of the 21 selected players follows below:

GOALKEEPERS: Dheeraj Singh, Prabhsukhan Gill, Sunny Dhaliwal;

DEFENDERS: Boris Singh, Jitendra Singh, Anwar Ali, Sanjeev Stalin, Hendry Antonay, Namit Deshpande;

MIDFIELDERS: Suresh Singh, Ninthoinganba Meetei, Amarjit Singh Kiyam, Abhijit Sarkar, Komal Thatal, Lalengmawia, Jeakson Singh, Nongdamba Naorem, Rahul Kannoly Praveen, Md. Shahjahan;

FORWARDS: Rahim Ali, Aniket Jadhav.
