Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli slammed 150s as India punished Sri Lanka at the Feroz Shah Kotla as India ended the day for 371/4. Vijay was stumped for 155 as Lakshan Sandakan broke the 283-run stand.

Earlier, the Indian skipper became the fourth-fastest Indian to reach 5000 runs in Tests. Kohli became the 11th Indian to get to the 5000-run mark in Tests.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat. India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan (23), who became off- spinner Dilruwan Perera's 100th Test victim, and Cheteshwar Pujara (23) in the morning session.

India were 245 for two at tea on the opening day of the third cricket Test against Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla ground, Delhi.

Ahead of the long tour of South Africa, India’s top batsmen will test their skill and temperament against a Sri Lanka attack that has shown fire at times.

This is the third and final Test of the 3-match series. The first match at Kolkata had ended in a draw. In the second Test at Nagpur hosts defeated the visitors.
