35-year-old five-time world champion and Olympic bronze-medallist MC Mary Kom has won gold in women boxing's 48 kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games. The five-time world champion beat Ireland’s Kristina O’Hara to claim her first Commonwealth gold.

She was joined by boxer Gaurav Solanki in men's 52 kg in the top finishers' group. Boxers Amit Panghal (49kg) and Manish Kaushik (60kg) settled for silver.

In shooting, Sanjeev Rajput claimed the 50-metre rifle 3 positions gold medal by creating a Commonwealth Games record in both qualification and final.

Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian javelin thrower to clinch the coveted medal at the Commonwealth Games.
