Former Olympic silver medalist and Indian sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore applauded the amazing performance Indian athletes have put up at the recently Commonwealth Games.

India finished the medals tally in third place with 66 medals including 26 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze medals at Gold Coast in Australia. Rathore has assured to build on the success of the games, keeping the 2024 and 2028 Olympics in mind.
 
Rathore lauded the intensity and passion shown by the athletes and congratulated them for making the entire nation proud. “While Indians won a lot of medals in disciplines which have been their traditional stronghold, it was even more heartening to find these athletes doing well in sports, where they have not won too many medals,” the minister said.
