An explosion had taken place near the outer wall of the camp office of the Indian Embassy at Biratnagar in Kathmandu on Monday night around 8 pm. There were no reports of injuries in the blast.

The Ministry of External Affairs said that a minor explosion took place along the rear boundary wall of Camp Office of the Indian Embassy at Biratnagar, Nepal at about 20:15 hrs on April 16 of 2018. No one was injured. Our Embassy in Kathmandu is in touch with Nepal Government. Security authorities in Nepal are investigating the matter. 

According to Morang SP Arun Kumar BC, the blast which occurred on Monday had targeted the Camp Office. The involvement of the splinter group Biplab Maoist behind the blast has been suspected. The Nepal police investigation is underway and the security near the camp office has been tightened up.

The explosion created a hole in the wall towards the secluded rear area of the camp office. No one was at the office when the explosion took place, said the Indian Embassy officials.
