CM Sarbananda Sonowal addresses Indian Diaspora at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bengaluru
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal addressed the Indian Diaspora at the 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017 in Bengaluru on Sunday. Sonowal urged the Indian Diaspora to be a partner in a resurgent Assam.
The next phase of expansion of the great Indian growth story will be achieved by its North Eastern States and Assam is the centre of this action plan. Assam’s location in combination with its rich natural resources and skilled manpower provide a natural backdrop for promising business, Sonowal said.
“Assam has promising and investor-friendly environment in terms of connectivity, industrial infrastructure, natural resources and policy initiatives. Also the proposed Trans Asian Railway and Trans Asian Highway will further improve connectivity with most of the countries under The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN),” he said.
Sonowal said that Assam has a vibrant industrial base with more than 70 Industrial Infrastructures including Growth Centres, Export Processing Industrial Parks, Food Parks, Bamboo Park, Plastic Park, Integrated Industrial Infrastructure Centre, Industrial Estates, Biotech Park, IT Park etc. and is ready to welcome investors from across the globe.
The Chief Minister also said that Assam government will hold Global Investment Summit in Guwahati in November, 2017. “ I invite you all to participate in the Global Investment Summit,” he added.
