Flood waters of the Singra River have been engulfing several places in Nowboicha, Lakhimpur district for last two months.

Flood waters damaged one side of the Singra river embankment and have been drowning several villages in Nowboicha.

More than 25 villages have been inundated in flood water as an agricultural embankment of was breached at in Nowboicha.

Due to the reason, communication link have remained cut off and victims are facing trouble in getting drinking water, cooking.

Students in several areas have been facing troubles in attending schools for last two months.

Meanwhile, MLA of Nowboicha, Mamud Imdadul Haque Choudhury has alleged that the district administration have not taking sufficient measures to solve the flood situation of the area.

On the other hand, the increased level of water of Singra River has threatened the safety of its embankment. The flood water of river Singra has submerged many households, agricultural lands and fisheries for more than two months.
