Tamil Nadu Governor Vidyasagar Rao invites Palaniswami to form govt
The AIADMK's leader of Legislature Party and Public Works Minister Edapadi K Palanisamy has been invited by the Tamil Nadu Governor C Vidayasagar Rao to form the next government.
He has been asked to seek vote of confidence within 15 days.
This follows, E.K. Palaniswamy meeting Governor at Raj Bhavan this morning. Following conviction of Ms VK Sasikala in the Disproportionate Assets case, Palaniswamy was elected in her place on Tuesday at Kuvathur resort where the party MLAs are staying.
Immediately he rushed to Raj Bhavan and staked his claim to form new government in the state amidst volatile political situation. He met Governor last evening also to insist his case.
Palanisamy is likely to be sworn-in as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister - third in less than three months - at 4 pm today.
