Liquor ban: Nitish Kumar to form world's longest human chain in Bihar on January 21
Bihar is planning to form the world's longest human chain, which will be over 5,000 km long, on January 21, involving more than two crore people, to express its commitment towards liquor ban, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Tuesday.
The chain will now be spread over a stretch of 11,000 kilometres.
The Bihar government is trying to ensure participation of over two crore people in the event, which will be the world's largest and biggest on any issue.
The human chain will be formed at 10 am on January 21 for half an hour. The participants will stand in queue on the left side of the road.
On the other hand, the excise department of Assam made a number of amendments under Assam Excise Act implementing many new decisions in the process. The decisions include change of opening and closure timings of bars and wine stores, new dry day rules.
