Fake Rs 2,000 notes from Pakistan smuggled into India through Bangladesh border
The Border Security Force had caught fake Rs 2,000 notes at the India-Bangladesh border. The report said the notes had been printed in Pakistan.
The report said the BSF caught at least 40 fake Rs 2,000 notes.
The notes were seized in Murshidabad on February 8 from Azizur Rahman (26), who hails from Malda in West Bengal.
Citing interrogation records, sources said smugglers were required to pay Rs 400-600 in genuine currency for each fake Rs 2,000 note, depending on the quality.
