Mahindra Singh Dhoni steps down as captain of T-20 & ODI format of cricket
Mahindra Singh Dhoni has announced his decision to step down as captain of Team India's limited over cricket matches. He will, however, be available for selection for the ODI and T20 England series starting 15th of this month.
Dhoni relinquishes captaincy in all formats of the game. He stunned the cricket fraternity by relinquishing the captaincy barely 11 days before the ODI series against England. Dhoni had earlier stepped down as Captain of India's Test team. Under Dhoni, India had won a T-20 and ODI World Cup and a Champions Trophy title.
Sporting fraternity congratulated Dhoni on his glorious captaincy career. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has said it's a day to celebrate his successful career and respect the decision.
