With a superb 8 wicket win over South Africa in their third and final Group B match at the Oval in London last night, India stormed into the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy.

Opting to bowl first, India bundled out the world number one team for a meagre 191 courtesy a clinical bowling performance and some superb fielding.

South Africa were 140 for 2 at one stage, before they lost their last 8 wickets for just 51 runs. Seamers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged 2 wickets each.

Chasing 192 for victory, India then overhauled the target in 38 overs riding on opener Shikhar Dhawan’s innings of 78, which was his third consecutive half century of the tournament. Skipper Virat Kohli made an unbeaten 76, while Yuvraj Singh remained not out on 23. Hitting a six Yuvraj finished the match with a style.

Jasprit Bumrah was named Man of the Match.

In the final Group B game, Pakistan will take on Sri Lanka at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff at 3 PM IST today. The winner will be in the semi-finals.

England and Bangladesh are the teams that have made it to the last-four from Group A.

India is currently at the top of Group B and has a decent net run rate. They are likely to face Bangladesh in the semis.
