Digi-Dhan Mela in Guwahati: govt to launch e-Wallet Tokapoisa.in
A Digi Dhan mela has been organised in Guwahati today. Assam IT Minister Keshab Mahanta will inaugurate the Digi Dhan mela which will also be attended by Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Over 100 stalls will be set up during the mela which aims to promote digital transactions.
On the occasion, the Assam government will also launch its indigenously-developed e-Wallet, Tokapoisa.in, for hassle-free online transactions for the people of the state in local language.
Mahanta said, the mobile application has been developed by the AMTRON. Besides being an e-Wallet, he said, it will be a virtual payment terminal.
Traders and merchants, including small shop-keepers, would be able to use the app to keep record of their transactions, with a feature of accounting package for such small traders.
