In a first for Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency, the Election Commission is planning to set up booths with only women staffers to send across a message of women's empowerment.
At these special booths, the presiding officers, polling officers, micro observers and security personnel will all be women.
There would be 10 all women polling stations, manned by women polling officials and women security staff for the Lok Sabha seat in the state. Mangaldoi Lok Sabha constituency to go on polls on April 18.
The polling stations are – 81 no. Mangaldoi Town High School, 82 no. Mangaldoi Town High School, 83 no. Mangaldoi Town High School (South), 84 no. Mangaldoi Town High School (Middle), 86 no. Mangaldoi girls High secondary School, 87 no. Mangaldoi girls High secondary School, 232 no. BJ girls high school, 233 no. BJ girls high school, 145 no. Dolgaon Higher secondary school, 108 no. Kalaigaon Higher secondary school.
A total of 1,065 polling stations will be set in various locations across the said constituency.
