17 years after Oil museum dusted off for Poll

How long an oil museum foundation stone and ground breading work should take?

Two months or six months!!!

No it took 17 years, as the BJP, in their pre-election flurry, dusted off the Oil National Museum project and had a groundbreaking ceremony two days back at Guwahati. Notably, the tender for the work was launched in 2006.

This is the link for the Tender floated in 2006, 13 years ago.

"This is nothing but hoodwink common people. Even the land was allocated in the Khanapara helipad to set up the museum but the OIL PSUs did not bother to push hard and the same was again relaid, said Congress spokesman Mukul Shama

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma are racing against time to inaugurate as many new projects, already opened schemes, laying foundations as the poll announcement is expected either on Friday or latest by Saturday.

From New Delhi's Assam House to Sadiya's Road construction Dr Sharma and Mr. Sonowal are crisscrossing every part of the state bringing the state into the poll mode.

The administration is waiting for Friday to come early so that mad rush for this ceremonies come to an end and they can take a breather as the majority of the schemes are election-oriented and many of them do not even have necessary sanctions and concurrence from the Finance Department.
