3 lakh Vaccine Doses to be Provided Per Day from Monday: CM Sarma

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said that the state government will provide 3lakh vaccines per day from Monday (June 21). He said that people above 18 years of age will also be provided with vaccine doses.

Briefing the media at Janata Bhawan after a meeting with the deputy commissioners and health officials, the Chief Minister said that the doses will be given in two shifts as the vaccines will be given from 8 AM to 9 PM. "On Friday 1 lakh 16 thousand people have been inoculated. From June 21, we won't have to buy any more vaccine doses as the Center will provide the vaccine doses from Monday onwards." Himanta Biswa Sarma added.

He further added that 90 lakhs people will be inoculated in one month adding that 50 lakh people have already been inoculated so far. The health workers will be given a sum of Rs. 100 per day for their duty, said CM Sarma.

The Chief Minister further stated that the online registration will be held at the vaccination center itself. He further informed that the offices will reopen from July 1 and therefore, he urged the employees to get jabbed before July 1.

The guardian minister and guardian secretary will campaign in their respective districts for the next 7 days regarding the vaccination process, the Chief Minister added.
