33 Cases of AES Reported in Kamrup (M)
Kamrup (M) district has recorded with 33 numbers of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) case till date, as per the data provided by district health department.
According to an official of the health department, AES is a seasonal disease and that the highest incidences of cases are reported in the months of June and July.
The official further stated that breeding of mosquitoes takes place during these two months which is very infective. He also said that the cases are more in urban areas as people used to store water in open vessels in which breeding of mosquitoes takes place. After July, the cases become less.
However, no deaths have been reported so far in Assam due to AES.
