Security forces gunned down four terrorists on Friday morning during an encounter at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.
The operation was jointly launched by Army, police and CRPF in Pulwama after they received information about the presence of terrorists there, according to police official.
The police further informed that the terrorsists reportedly belong to Jaish-e-Mohammad. The encounter came days after a woman was shot dead by terrorists at her home in the district.
On June 5, a woman was killed while another person injured as unidentified gunmen attacked them in a village in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In the first five months of the year, security forces have killed 101 militants in counter-terror operations acting on intelligence inputs provided by their informants on the ground. In 2018 and 2017, from January till May security forces had managed to kill 70 and 57 militants respectively.
Report says that most of the counter-terror operations were executed in four districts of South Kashmir- Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Anantnag.
