Five people have been arrested in connection with the sensational murder of a political leader, Kamlesh Tiwari, in Uttar Pradesh. Tiwari, a leader of Hindu Samaj Party (HSP), was brutally murdered at his residence in Lucknow last Friday.
According to reports, three have been arrested in Gujarat, while two others were arrested from Bijnor area in UP. Tiwari’s wife has named the duo arrested from Bijnor in her FIR. Meanwhile, two other accused, those believed to have carried out the attack, are still on the run.
The UP police chief said that one of the accused called for the murder of Tiwari after he made some allegedly objectionable remarks against Prophet Muhammad.
