The Guwahati Smart City Mission has spent Rs. 9,53,60,000 for the construction of 30 Bio Toilets in the City. Eram Scientific Solutions Private Limited was provided with the sum of rupees to install bio-toilets in different locations in the city that valued more than Rs. 31,78,000 per unit.
As per reports, installation of smart bio toilets were proposed under Smart City Mission to meet the demands of sustainable and hygienic sanitation system in the city, prevention of open defecation, preventing pollution of water bodies and promote safety and dignity for women and other users.
It may be mentioned that, when a flat in the city can be easily available with that huge amount of money, Guwahati Smart City Ltd. has been spending Rs. 31 lakh to construct only one bio-toilet.
Notably, M Angamuthu, the Managing Director of Guwahati Smart City Ltd. has granted the project to install bio-toilets in the City.
