AASU-ABSU hounding Muslims in the name of NRC: AAMSU

The All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU) alleged that both the AASU and ABSU in name of NRC have been hounding innocent Muslim peoples.

According to AAMSU Chief Adviser Azizur Rahman,  both AASU and ABSU registered lakhs of fictions complainant against genuine Indian Muslim citizens without having any basic element of proof. That led to huge harassment to the Muslim people who have been now travelling to distant corner of the state to appear before the NRC authorities.

Addressing a press conference here in Guwahati ahead of the publication of the additional draft of the NRC on June 15th, 2019, Rahman said, “A section of organization of the state harassed the minority people physically and psychologically in some part of the state in the name of preparing the NRC.”

“A section of so-called ethnic organization utilized the people of the backward places to file claims and objection.” Rahman also cited examples of victims.

As the NBRC authorities  removed the provision of fee and penalty for false and willful complaints, lakhs of complaints were registered in the last 48 hours of NRC compliant process raising a major concern of human right violations.

Most of these complaints have no basic knowledge against those he had filed complainant and only reason was that the persons against whom the complaint was filed is a Muslim, said Rahman.

He was also categorical that nobody wanted to end this shop called  NRC and everybody wanted to milk it. He directly accuse AASU and ABSU and BJP of working at tandem to keep the problem alive.
