The All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU) alleged thatboth the AASU and ABSU in name of NRC have been hounding innocent Muslimpeoples.
According to AAMSU Chief Adviser Azizur Rahman, both AASU and ABSU registered lakhs of fictionscomplainant against genuine Indian Muslim citizens without having any basicelement of proof. That led to huge harassment to the Muslim people who havebeen now travelling to distant corner of the state to appear before the NRCauthorities.
Addressing a press conference here in Guwahati ahead of thepublication of the additional draft of the NRC on June 15th, 2019, Rahman said,"A section of organization of the state harassed the minority people physicallyand psychologically in some part of the state in the name of preparing theNRC."
"A section of so-calledethnic organization utilized the people of the backward places to file claimsand objection." Rahman also cited examples of victims.
As the NBRC authorities removed the provision of fee and penalty for false and willful complaints,lakhs of complaints were registered in the last 48 hours of NRC compliant processraising a major concern of human right violations.
Most of these complaints have no basic knowledge against those he had filed complainant and only reason was that the persons against whom the complaint was filed is a Muslim, said Rahman.
He was also categorical that nobody wanted to end this shopcalled NRC and everybody wanted to milkit. He directly accuse AASU and ABSU and BJP of working at tandem to keep theproblem alive.
