The Health Department, Assam has issued a new notification announcing additional categories of air passengers exempted from institutional quarantine.
Additional categories of air passengers exempted from institutional quarantine:
The following categories of persons who travelled by air, are also exempted from institutional quarantine:-
1) Husband and wife who travelled to Assam together.
2) Husband, wife and their children who travelled to Assam together.
3) Husband, wife and their parents who travelled to Assam together.
The above-mentioned exemption from institutional quarantine is subject to following conditions:-
A. Every person in a group as in (1), (2) and (3) above is asymptomatic.
B. Every person in a group shall undergo 14 days home quarantine, after compliance with health protocols such as collection of swab samples for COVID-19 test, hand stamping, conversion of the residence into a containment zone, etc.
C. Mode of travel is by air.
Above exemptions from institutional quarantine will not be applicable if the flight in which the person has travelled has been found to have a high incidence of COVID- 19 positive cases or has been contaminated in some way.
