Adequate LPG cylinders available: IndianOil

Debunking news of possible scarcity of a domestic LPG in the market due to a probable strike by the LPG transporters of North Guwahati Bottling Plant of IndianOil, the organisation on Tuesday assured its consumers that adequate domestic LPG is available.

According to IndianOil, there is no strike notice issued from any transporter. "No steps have been taken by IndianOil management which jeopardizes the interests of the local people or LPG transporters in any way," stated an official release, adding, "All processes are as per documented guidelines and governed by the tender terms and conditions, which is a part of the transportation contract".

The Chief General Manager & State Head of IndianOil in the North East G Ramesh said, "We have a transparent system of resolving complaints wherein people are encouraged to approach us with specifics, so that issues if any are resolved in a manner that is fair to all stakeholders."

"So there is no question of shortage of Indane LPG and IndianOil will ensure that the supply chain is maintained. In fact, today the average time taken to deliver a refill in Assam has been reduced from 10 days to 2 days even though there were a lot of operational constraints during the lockdown. This is despite the fact that the demand for LPG has increased due to the 3 free LPG refills provided under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna (PMGKY)" said G Ramesh.
