AHSEC Faces Obstacles: Dr. Dayananda Borgohain

AssamHigher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) Chairman on Monday alleged that thecouncil has faced many obstacles since the transfer of the former Secretaryadding that the newly appointed Secretary has not yet taken the responsibilityof work.

Addressing a press conference, the Chairman Dr. Dayananda Borgohain said that it's been one month of the appointment of the new Secretary, but till date, he has not taken any responsibility and that he has been able to make it for only two hours in the office for which the Council has to face many problems.

Commenting on the junior colleges that are being run without any rules and regulations, Borgohain said that the member of the council has established many junior colleges without proper norms and that the Council has received many information from such colleges.

Therefore, the Council instructed to form an investigation committee and a five-member committee has been formed to investigate into the colleges.

Thecommittee has been asked to submit a report within one month. He said that nowork could be done which would hamper the dignity of the council and thatstrict action would be taken against it.

The Chairman also proposed to make the subject of the Assamese as the primary subject instead of taking Alternative English and suggestions would be taken from noted litterateurs. He said that suggestions would be taken from 5000 renowned personalities regarding the implementation of the Assamese subject to be made compulsory.
