Theruling party of Tamil Nadu, AIADMK which has 11 members in the Rajya Sabha,will support the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in the UpperHouse of the Parliament.
The supportof AIADMK will mean that the controversial bill will easily sail through in theRajya Sabha too. The party, which has a lone member in the Lok Sabha, willsupport the bill in the lower house too.
Accordingto a senior leader of the party, they will in all probability support the CABin the Parliament.
It may bementioned that the bill which is to be introduced in the Lok Sabha on Mondaywill be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday (December 9), according toreports. AIADMK, which is an ally of BJP, has either been supporting all billsor abstaining while voting in the Rajya Sabha.
However,CAB is being opposed by most of the opposition parties, including Congress andDMK.
Protests havealso been erupted in Assam and Northeast opposing the bill and many students'organization has also called for Assam Bandh on December 9 and 10.
