Aimee Baruah Bags Best Actress Award at TIWFF for ‘Semkhor’

Noted Assamese actor Aimee Baruah bagged 'Best Actress Award' at Toronto International Women Film Festival (TIWFF) for her film 'Semkhor'.

Aimee Baruah also achieved a big milestone by winning as many as three awards at the Tagore International Film Festival.

Baruah's film 'Semkhor', bagged a total of three awards, in three different categories in Tagore International Film Festival. 'Semkhor', a Dimasa film was directed by Baruah. She also played the role of a protagonist in the film.

The film won the 'Best Narrative', 'Best Women Film' and 'Best Debut Film Maker' awards.

Toronto International Women Film Festival celebrates and recognizes films made by talented female filmmakers from all over the world. The festival is an IMDb qualifying monthly and annual festival.

The Festival focuses on female driven stories, independent female directors, producers, writers, actresses, cinematographers, editors, and all female artists contributing to the language of cinema as women in film.
