The Bengaluru airport on Sunday evening received a threat call for an AirAsia flight. A total of 179 passengers were on board the flight. The flight was travelling from West Bengal’s Bagdogra to Kolkata.
The Air Asia I5-588 flight was reportedly cordoned off by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Kolkata airport. Reports also suggest that the Bomb Detection & Disposal Squad (BDDS) has arrived at the airport and are currently checking the aircraft. Several fire tenders are also present at the spot.
The flight has been kept in isolation bay of the airports as a precautionary measure. An investigation by the concerned authorities has been initiated regarding the threat call, informed Air Asia.
