The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA's on Tuesday submitted a petition to the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Hitendra Nath Goswami and demanded construction of a gym and a swimming pool at the MLA hostel campus.
"We have submitted a petition for the construction of a state-of-the art gym and a swimming pool at the assembly complex," Dhing MLA Aminul Islam and Jamunamukh MLA Abdur Rahim Ajmal told reporters.
Junior Ajmal said , "If we stay fit the whole Assam can remain fit and Inshallah we would work together for the betterment of Assam, so I would request the government fulfills our demand as soon as possible for a state of art gym and a swimming pool".
Dhing MLA, Aminul Islam said, "We have henceforth placed our demands for a gym and swimming pool for the use of the members and their families in the campus of the MLA hostel."
Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi also supported the demand of the AIUDF MLA's.
