National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Monday briefedUnion Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi over the current security situationin Jammu and Kashmir. This was for the first time that Doval met Shah after hisreturn from the Kashmir valley two days back.
Ajit Doval was in Jammu and Kashmir for about ten days and personallymonitored the situation after the Centre anniunced its move to nullify Article370 and bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir. Restrictions were imposed on movement ofpeople and communication links snapped in Jammu and Kashmir following the moveon August 5.
Doval apprised Shah about the overall situation in thestate. Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and other top officials also attendedthe meeting that reveiwed the steps aken to maintain the law and ordersituation in the state.
According to an official quoted by PTI, the issuerelated to restrictions in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir also figured inthe meeting.
All communication lines were snapped across Kashmir,including landlines on August 4 ahead of the Centre's announcement of theabrogation of Article 370.
