In a development that would reportedly give the Indian side an edge over the Chinese army, Indian Army has managed to gain control of six new major hill features along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) during the ongoing face-off between the two sides in Eastern Ladakh.
A report by The Economic Times quoted top government sources as saying to the ANI, “The Indian Army has occupied six new heights between August 29 and the second week of September. The new hill features being occupied by our troops include the Magar hill, Gurung Hill, Recehen La, Rezang La, Mokhpari and the dominating height over Chinese positions near Finger 4.”
The sources reportedly added that the hills were lying dormant, and that the Indian Army was able to occupy them before the Chinese troops who were also eyeing at it.
It was further informed that the occupation would give the Indian Army an edge over the Chinese PLA.
Incidentally, the Chinese Army increased its troops near the Rezang la and Rechen La heights after India managed to occupy the said heights.
