The city of Guwahati and the areas around it are facing severe landslide. People are being evacuated from the landslide-prone areas to safer areas of the city.
In this background, Health Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma took to twitter to inform that Home Minister, Amit Shah called him to enquire about the landslides happening in and around Guwahati. He said that Shah also assured full support from the Headquarters of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). Sarma thanked Shah for his concern for the people of Assam "in this hour of distress".
