President of Boro Women's Justice Forum (BWJF) Anjali Daimari, addressing the media in Chirang's Samudisa village alleged that the Indian Armed forces have wrongly apprehended a local woman suspecting her to be a member of National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Songbijit (NDFB(S))

Daimari, who addressed the media from the victim's house, further said, "The reason we have come here is that on June 16 a lady from this house was nabbed by the armed forces, suspecting her to be a member of the NDFB (S). A mother of three, she in no way is associated with NDFB (S) and she has been running the family by doing regular labour work after her husband had gone missing."

The BWIJ further alleged that the Indian army has wrongly gunned down several youths claiming them to be NDFB cadres.

"The army shot down several youths suspecting them as NDFB cadres, but there are no concrete proofs. Moreover, many persons have been put behind the bars on false accusations," Anjali Daimari further said.

It may be mentioned here that the apprehended lady is identified as Rishima Narzary.

The army claimed to have recovered a pistol, live ammunition and medicines from Rishima's house during a raid on June 16.

It is worth mentioning here that the NDFB (S) has also clarified that Rishima is not a cadre of the outfit.
