APCC celebrates former PM Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary
On the occasion of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s 75th birth anniversary, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) and the Seva Dal also celebrating his birthday in Assam along with the other states of the country.
As per reports, paying tribute to the former leader, APCC arranges an arrogant program in Silpagram near Panjabari, Guwahati on Tuesday.
Reportedly former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will take part in this program along with other senior Congress leaders of the state. Party office-bearers have also instructed all party units to commemorate the day with prayer meetings and floral tributes along with social programes such as plantation of saplings, seminars, and conferences.
It may be stated that, the program has already starts with cleanliness in Basishta Devalay, organized by a Young Brigade of APCC on their completion of one year.
In May 1991, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) suicide bomber during an election rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu.
