Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today felicitated Assam pride and India's champion sprinter Hima Das at the Assam Administrative Staff College in Guwahati.
The felicitation programme was organised under APCC President Ripun Bora's supervision. The new Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and Assam Congress In-charge Harish Rawat also felicitated and congratulated Hima Das on her achievement.
All Assam Students Union (AASU) will also organise a felicitation ceremony at Latsasil Playground today afternoon to felicitate the 'Dhing Express'.
Hima brought laurels to India and Assam by becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at the IAAF U-20 World Championsships in Finland this year.
Last month, she won two silvers and one gold at the Jakarta Asian Games in which India saw its best medal tally and best ever performance in track and field events.
