The ongoing APSC scam has witnessed another twist as now a senior judge is under the scanner of the Gauhati High court as he himself approached the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court telling that he was approached by middlemen of the accused to give bail.
The judge in question Prashanta Saikia approached Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court to testify in this regard.
This is noteworthy that police have arrested two person, BJP leader cum lawyer Sailen Sarma Barua and builder Surajit Chaudhury, who is the husband of an accused for trying to scuttle the probe and influence the job.
But the High court is not amused at the said judge as he had approached to Chief Justice only after arrest of the above duo.
The police is investigating an allegation that some of the jailed ACS and APS officers had tried to bribe the said judge through the arrested lawyer and builder and the judge was also compromised.
However Gauhati High Court, after being tipped off, removed the said the judge just hours before the accused were supposed to be given bail by the court.
There has been trend in the lower judiciary to influence the judge through various channels and this is for the first time it has come to light.
