The investigation over the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has ultimately come to an end after 2 years and 7 months on Thursday. The Dibrugarh Police, led by Surjeet Singh Panesar, today submitted the last charge sheet of the case in the court.
“We have completed our investigation. Four of the accused are still absconding and we have arrested seventy people including then APSC chairman Rakesh Paul in connection with the case,” said investigating officer Panesar on Thursday.
Previously, the police had submitted ten charge sheets in the court regarding the case. It may be mentioned here that there were seven ACS and APS official amongst the arrested seventy accused.
Meanwhile, the Gauhati High Court (GHC) has once against rejected the bail plea of Rakesh Paul in a case registered in the Bhangagarh Police Station.
