Arunachal River Flowing Under Danger Level

The state of Arunachal Pradesh also reels under flood due to incessant rains that trigger since last few days and all the major rivers of the East Siang district especially Siang River are flowing above the danger level and Siku River eroding approach road at Siku Bridge towards the western side.

The district administration has also issued aprohibitory order banning heavy vehicle movement along the Siku Bridge. The deputycommissioner of East Siang district, Dr. Kinny Singh has ordered to imposeSection 144 and banned entry of heavy vehicles on the bridge above the capacityof one ton, plying of double lane traffic from both sides of the bridge,traffic and plying of vehicles on the said road between 7 pm to 5 am.

East Siang SP also deployed police personnel at the Siku Bridge point in order to monitor the ground situation. As per the instruction of the DC of Pasighat, all the blockade along the Pane Korong along Advanced Landing Ground Wall at Lower Baskota have been cleared for easy passages of the river and stagnant rain-water which were causing inundation of several dwelling of houses in the Lower Baskota areas.

The blocked channel has been cleared which was closely monitored by magistrates, officials of PMC and DDMO by engaging Pokland and JCB. The officials informed that illegal encroachment along the river-side has been evicted in order to free flow of water.
