ASDMA Releases Rs. 46Cr for Assam Flood

The Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has released an amount of Rs 46 crore for the flood situation in the state.

The department has released 20lakhs-3crores for each district as a relief fund of flood.

Baksa district received Rs. 50 lakh while Bajali received Rs. 1crore, Dhubri Rs. 3crore and Jorhat Rs. 1.5crore.

The flood situation in Assam remains grim as it claimed two more lives on Thursday taking the death toll in the state to 68, according to a report by the ASDMA.

Nearly 36.50 lakh people from 26 out of 33 districts of the state are affected in the current spate of floods. The 26 districts include — Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Sonitpur, Darrang, Baksa, Nalbari, Barpeta, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Morigaon, Nagaon, Hojai, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Karbi Anglong.

The flood situation in some districts of Upper Assam is slightly improved after the floodwaters are receding. But the flood situation is still grim in the districts of Lower Assam.
